Guro Reiten Stars with Four Goals
Chelsea produced a stunning performance to thrash Bristol City 6-0 at Ashton Gate on Sunday, keeping their Barclays Women's Super League title challenge alive. Norwegian forward Guro Reiten was the star of the show, scoring four goals in a devastating display that overwhelmed the home side.
The Blues started strongly and took the lead through Reiten in the 15th minute. The Norwegian winger doubled her tally just before half-time, giving Chelsea a comfortable 2-0 advantage at the break.
Reiten completed her hat-trick in the 55th minute, and her fourth goal came just 10 minutes later. Fran Kirby and Niamh Charles also got on the scoresheet as Chelsea ran riot in the second half, leaving Bristol City chasing shadows.
The victory keeps Chelsea in second place in the WSL table, two points behind leaders Manchester City. Bristol City, meanwhile, remain rooted to the bottom of the standings, with just one win from their 10 matches this season.
In contrast, Chelsea have now won their last four league games and are looking like a serious threat to Manchester City's title hopes. Reiten's performance was a reminder of her quality, and the Blues will be confident of maintaining their challenge in the coming weeks.
