Atlanta Braves beat Los Angeles Angels 7-4, snap 5-game skid
O'Hoppe ends 0-for-29 skid with tying homer
Moniak's double puts Angels ahead
The Atlanta Braves snapped a five-game losing streak with a 7-4 win over the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday night at Truist Park.
Los Angeles took an early 1-0 lead on Livan Soto's RBI single in the first inning, but Atlanta answered back with a run in the second on Michael Harris II's RBI double.
The Angels regained the lead in the fourth inning on Logan O'Hoppe's solo homer, his first hit in 29 at-bats. The Braves tied it up again in the fifth on Austin Riley's RBI single.
Atlanta took the lead for good in the sixth inning on Mickey Moniak's go-ahead double. The Braves added two more runs in the seventh on a sacrifice fly by Harris and an RBI single by Ozzie Albies.
The Angels scored two runs in the ninth inning on a wild pitch and an RBI single by Shohei Ohtani, but it wasn't enough to complete the comeback.
Bryce Elder (4-3) earned the win for the Braves, allowing three runs on six hits in 5 2/3 innings. Soto (9-7) took the loss for the Angels, allowing five runs on seven hits in 5 1/3 innings.
With the win, the Braves improved to 65-57, while the Angels fell to 54-68.
