Upsetting Son Heung Min Urges S Korea Fans To Back New Coach

'Upsetting': Son Heung-min urges S. Korea fans to back new coach

Son Heung-min, the Tottenham Hotspur forward, has urged South Korea fans to back new coach Jurgen Klinsmann.

Klinsmann was appointed as South Korea's new coach on Monday, replacing Paulo Bento who left after the World Cup.

Son Heung-min, the Tottenham Hotspur forward, has urged South Korea fans to back new coach Jurgen Klinsmann.

"It's upsetting to see the team perform poorly," Son said. "But we need to support the new coach and give him time to implement his philosophy."

Klinsmann, a former Germany striker, has a wealth of experience in international football. He coached Germany to third place at the 2006 World Cup and the United States to the knockout stages of the 2014 World Cup.

South Korea failed to advance beyond the group stage at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The team finished bottom of Group H, behind Portugal, Ghana, and Uruguay.

Klinsmann has been tasked with improving South Korea's performance and leading the team to the 2026 World Cup in North America.

Son Heung-min is one of South Korea's most successful players. He has won the Premier League Golden Boot twice and has been named the Asian Footballer of the Year six times.

Son's support for Klinsmann is a boost for the new coach. Klinsmann will need all the support he can get as he looks to turn around South Korea's fortunes.
